Dancin' DJs
DJ Kimberly S.
As one of Hollywood's hottest DJs by night, and a 2nd degree black belt karate instructor by day, Kimberly S. simply kicks ass. In the daylight hours, she can be found teaching Tae Kwon Do to kids at her martial arts studio on the famed Sunset Strip. But it's after dark that Kimberly shines. She is currently the resident DJ at both the state-of-the-art FACTORY nightclub and GIRL BAR in Los Angeles, spinning the hottest sounds for thousands of loyal fans (and some of Hollywood's hippest celebrities) on a nightly basis.
Kimberly began her DJ career in Los Angeles with an eight-year residency at The Palms in West Hollywood. Making regular appearances at Hollywood's elite movie premiere parties, she is in constant demand to spin at the hottest dance events in cities across the continent. Landmark performances, such as the Chrome Party's sold-out Closing Party, have earned Kimberly a solid reputation for consistency and creativity. Her superb technical skills and amazing musical intuition prompted Lavender Magazine to dub her "the nation's number one lesbian DJ" and Advocate Magazine to include her on its 2001 "Innovators" list of trendsetters in the gay and lesbian community. She has since made her network TV debut, portraying a popular club DJ on the hit series, "Charmed" and has
appeared in a national color photo spread for John Paul Mitchell Systems as a celebrity spokesperson.
Whether she's pumping out the hits for a packed dance floor, gracing the cover of a magazine, or delivering a razor-sharp roundhouse kick, fans everywhere agree that Kimberly S. is a knockout in every sense of the word.
Bob Ganem
Dj Bob Ganem Originally Hails from Bangor, Me where he began Djing 9 years ago. He quickly saw the power and importance of dance music but was frustrated with the lack of support for the new, important sounds. coming from the major big cities. In the summer of '94 he moved to Cleveland, OH and has been involved in the Dance music scene, first with local area raves and then with the local gay club scene. You can find Bob currently spinning Twist nightclub on Thursday and Friday nights and Bounce nightclub on Saturdays.
Jon Garrison
This striking twenty-two year old's God-given talent to wax a booty-shaking rhythm began with an intelligent and genuine love for Truth Groove just a short time ago in his hometown of Akron. He has already taken his reputation from relative obscurity to a much respected, and at times somewhat intimidating, beat-master, spinning at several of Cleveland's hottest late-night happenings.
DJ Jon Garrison would seem to be of the class that have not forgotten that locating the true spirit of sound is, in actuality, a very real job; a mission in and of itself. He skillfully bridges the gap between the old and new schools creating a pulsing, sweltering union that is both simple and complex at the same time; Hypnotic Mojo. A dynamic DJ to remind us, yet again, that it should be all about love.
Joe Gauthreaux
Joe Gauthreaux's musical philosophy extends well be-yond filling a night at the club with a series of good dance numbers. It is based on the principal that music can be used to take the listener on a journey; a musical ride that follows a groove, the path of which is bounded only by skill of the disc jockey and the listener's willingness and ability to let the music lead them.
Gauthreaux played his first gig at The OZ Nightclub, New Orleans' premiere gay dance bar, where he then earned a promotion to Saturday night residency the following year. Though OZ remains a regular engagement for Gauthreaux, his career has developed well beyond that of a resident DJ due to his growing reputation for being a reliable choice for the biggest parties on the Circuit. Making guest appearances around the country, Gauthreaux has headlined some of the biggest circuit events in the US, including Blue Ball Philadelphia, White Party Palm Springs, Cherry 6 & 7 in DC,
Memorial Day Weekend in Pensacola, and many more. Gauthreaux has also made international appearances in Puerto Vallarta, Toronto, & Vancouver.
Gauthreaux was recently selected by Billboard Magazine to serve on a panel of 140 DJ's, along with Junior Vasquez, David Morales, Frankie Knuckles, Manny Lehman and Susan Morabito, which is responsible for compiling Billboard's weekly dance chart. In 2003, he was voted the #2 most popular DJ at TheCircuitDog.com.
Gauthreaux's sound is constantly evolving. His prefer-ence is for a soulful, house beat, but his theory is that a good record is a good record, no matter what genre it is. By remaining completely open to the endless variety of styles and beats that the world of music has to offer, Gauthreaux ensures that his musical express is equipped to make a complete trip, with musical experiences along the way that will leave the listener wanting to take it again and again.
